What's on the snack wheel

The wheel comes loaded with a balanced mix of salty, sweet, crunchy, and fresh options. You've got the classics — Chips, Pretzels, and Popcorn — alongside healthier picks like Veggie Sticks, Fruit, and Nuts. Middle-ground options like Granola Bar, Trail Mix, Yogurt, and Cheese & Crackers cover the "I want something filling" moments, while Chocolate and Cookies handle the sweet tooth end of the spectrum.

That spread means almost any result is something you could realistically eat right now, which is the point — no absurd wildcards, just a genuinely useful snack random picker.

How to make the snack wheel yours

The default 12 entries cover a lot of ground, but your pantry is specific. Swap out anything you don't have — click the X next to an entry to remove it, then type your own snack in the text field and press Enter to add it. If you're building a longer list, paste a newline-separated list into the bulk import area to add everything at once.

You can also adjust how often each option comes up. Every entry has a numeric weight — raise the weight on Fruit or Veggie Sticks if you're trying to nudge yourself toward something lighter, and lower it on Chocolate if you only want it to win occasionally. Higher-weight entries take up a proportionally larger slice of the wheel and win more often. You're not locked into equal odds.

Good moments to spin

The snack wheel earns its keep in a few specific situations:

  • The 3 p.m. stare into the pantry. You're hungry but nothing looks appealing. Spin instead of standing there for two minutes.
  • Kids' snack time. Handing the decision to a wheel sidesteps negotiations entirely. Whatever it lands on is the answer.
  • Office snack runs. Someone's making a store run and needs to satisfy a group — spin a few times and write down the results.
  • Eating more variety. If you default to the same two snacks every day, spinning a wheel that includes options like Trail Mix or Cheese & Crackers naturally pushes you toward things you'd otherwise skip.

Customising the look and removing winners

The Customize panel lets you switch between 16 colour palettes — try Candy or Bubblegum for a fun snack-time feel, or Monochrome if you want something calmer. You can also pick a pointer style (Pin, Arrow, or Classic) and toggle spin sounds on or off.

If you're spinning for a group and want each snack to come up only once, turn on Remove Winner beneath the wheel. Every time a snack wins, it's pulled from the pool so you get a different result each round — useful for planning a snack rotation without repeats.
