What's on the punishment wheel

The wheel comes pre-loaded with 12 punishments that hit a sweet spot between harmless and genuinely uncomfortable:

  • Ice cube down back — cold, fast, impossible to fake
  • Prank call — pick a contact, put it on speaker
  • Wear silly hat — keep it on for the next round
  • Sing badly — on purpose, full volume, no skipping
  • Text your ex — group gets to pick the message
  • Blindfold task — group decides what the task is
  • Speak in whisper — for the rest of the round
  • Do 20 squats — right here, right now
  • Dance for 1 min — no music required, no mercy given
  • Compliment strangers — text a stranger something genuine
  • No phone 30 min — the one that genuinely hurts
  • Wear socks on hands — stay in them until your next turn

Every entry sits at equal weight by default, so each punishment has the same shot at landing. If certain punishments fit your group better than others, you can hide individual entries using the eye toggle — they stay in the list but get skipped during spins. No need to delete anything you might want back later.

Swap in your own punishments

The editor panel sits right next to the wheel. Type a punishment into the text field and press Enter to add it, or paste a whole list of ideas into the bulk-import area to add them all at once. Hit the X next to any entry to remove it. If you want to tip the odds — say, making "Dance for 1 min" land more often — tap the numeric weight field on that entry and raise it above 1. Higher weight means a proportionally larger slice and a proportionally better chance of winning.

Need ideas? The Ideas button generates contextual suggestions based on what's already on your wheel, which is useful when you've exhausted your own creativity halfway through the night. For a completely different style of game, check out the challenge wheel — the entries there lean toward dares rather than penalties.

Running the game fairly

Turn on Remove Winner (the toggle below the wheel) and every punishment disappears from the pool once it's been served. With 12 entries and 12 players, everyone gets a different fate. Turn it off to let the same punishment repeat — useful when the group is smaller than the entry list and repetition is fine.

The winner dialog appears automatically when the wheel stops, shows the punishment text clearly, and offers share buttons so you can post the result directly to WhatsApp, X, or your device's native share sheet. The shared content is the winning punishment text plus the page URL — good for calling out absent friends who need to complete their sentence remotely.

Spin history is logged below the wheel for the whole session, newest first, so there's no argument about what was already served. If you want a clean slate mid-game, hit the Clear button in the history section.

Adjusting tone for your group

The default 12 punishments work for a mixed adult group — nothing crude, nothing that requires props you won't have on hand. For a tamer crowd (think family game night), hide anything that feels too much and use the wheel generator to build a clean custom list from scratch. For a group that wants something harder, add your own entries and weight the punishments you actually want to see land.

Frequently asked

Q.01

punishment wheel ideas for kids

The default 12 entries (e.g., "Text your ex," "Prank call") are designed for adults; for kids, hide those entries via the eye toggle and swap in tamer alternatives like "Sing badly," "Do 20 squats," or "Wear silly hat," which are the entries on this wheel already safe for younger groups.

Q.02

how many punishments are on the punishment wheel

The wheel comes pre-loaded with exactly 12 punishments.
