What's on the playlist shuffle wheel

The wheel comes loaded with 12 genres that cover a wide listening range: Pop, Rock, Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, Classical, Country, Electronic, Indie, Folk, Metal, and Reggae. Each slice gets equal weight by default, so every genre has the same chance of landing. If you find yourself almost never in the mood for one genre, hide it with the eye-toggle in the entry panel — it stays in your list but gets skipped during spins.

You can also swap in specific artists, albums, or playlist names instead of genres. Delete the entries you don't want, type your own into the text field, and hit Enter to add them. For a longer list — say, 30 albums — paste them as a newline-separated block using the bulk import text area, or upload a .csv file with your entries in the first column. If you're stuck on what to add, the Ideas button generates genre or artist suggestions based on what's already on the wheel.

Using weights to favour what you're in the mood for

Every entry has a numeric weight (default 1). Raise the weight on Electronic to 3 and it occupies three times the slice area and wins proportionally more often — useful when you're mostly in an Electronic phase but still want a chance of landing somewhere unexpected. Weights stay editable per entry throughout the session, so you can rebalance on the fly without clearing the wheel.

Keeping a session history of what you've spun

Every result appears in the spin history section below the wheel, newest first. That means you can look back and see what genres came up over an afternoon of listening without having to remember anything. The winner dialog that opens after each spin also gives you share buttons — copy the result to clipboard, post it to X or WhatsApp, or use the native share sheet on mobile — handy for telling a friend what you ended up with.

If you want the wheel to force variety, turn on the Remove Winner toggle below the wheel. Each winning genre is pulled from the pool right after the spin, so the same genre can't come up twice. With 12 genres loaded, that gives you a clean run through all 12 before anything repeats. When you want to start fresh, the Clear button in the entry panel resets the list.

Frequently asked

Q.01

how do I add my own Spotify playlist names to the shuffle wheel

Delete the 12 default genre entries, then type or paste your playlist names (one per line via bulk import) into the entry panel — the wheel works with any text, so playlist names like "Chill Vibes" or "Workout Bangers" replace the genres directly.

Q.02

can I make the wheel skip a genre I never listen to without deleting it

Yes — use the eye-toggle on that genre's entry in the panel; it stays saved in your list but is skipped on every spin until you re-enable it.
