How to use the Team Generator

  1. 1

Customise the Team Generator entries to match your needs β€” click any slice to rename it, drag to reorder, or use the bulk import dialog to paste a list.

  2. 2

Tune each entry's weight with the Β± stepper. Heavier slices win more often. The live % chip shows each entry's true win chance.

  3. 3

Hit the SPIN The Wheel button β€” or just press Space β€” and watch the wheel pick a winner. Switch sound effects in the customisation panel.

  4. 4

Share the result with the X, WhatsApp, Facebook, or copy buttons in the winner card. Toggle "Remove Winner" if you want each spin to remove the pick automatically.

Fast group-split for any size

Splitting 20 kids into 4 teams for gym class, 8 colleagues into 2 hackathon teams, or 6 friends into pairs for paintball β€” the Team Generator does the assignment in seconds. Spin once per person to land them on a random team. Or use "Remove Winner" for rotation-style picks where every team must fill to the same size.

Custom team names

The default Team A through Team F is just a starting point. Edit each entry to match your team names: "Red", "Blue", "Green"; or "Sharks", "Dragons", "Phoenix". Each team gets its own emoji for visual identity on the wheel.

Fairness, not perfect balance

Pure random picks won't always produce perfectly balanced team sizes β€” that's the cost of true randomness. For equal-size teams, use the "Remove Winner" toggle and spin one less time than you have people; assign the last person to the team with the fewest members.

Frequently asked

Q.01

Can I change the team names?

Yes β€” click any entry to rename it. Add a custom emoji to give the team identity on the wheel.

Q.02

Does it guarantee equal team sizes?

No β€” random picks can produce uneven sizes. For equal sizes, manually balance the last few picks or use the "Remove Winner" toggle as a rotation.

Q.03

Can I split into more than 6 teams?

Yes β€” add as many team slices as you need, up to 100. The wheel scales to fit.

Q.04

Can I weight a team to be more likely?

Yes. Bump that team's weight in the stepper. Useful if one team has fewer slots remaining and you want to fill them faster.
